Homework is assigned regularly but not necessarily every night by every teacher.
It is much more beneficial for a child to work intensely for a shorter time (leaving time for occasional relaxation) rather than to labor with work for many hours at a time. Parents are encouraged to train children to approach homework in this manner. It is suggested that parents exhibit interest in the child’s work, provide proper study conditions, and promote good study habits. Individual teachers will inform students of their particular homework policies.
Homework is mandatory and essential to the educational process.
Parents who have questions or concerns about their child’s homework may call the teacher to discuss the problem for clarification. Students in Grades Four through Eight use homework assignment books and parents should check these books daily.
If a student is sick and a parent wishes to pick up homework...
a call can be placed to the school office between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. to give the teacher ample time to get the assignments ready. The homework should be picked up at the end of the school day.
Students should take care in preparing their books and materials when leaving school.
To help instill responsibility on the part of the students, and for school security, students are not allowed to return to the classroom for forgotten materials after dismissal.
